Five Things Friday...Day Late Edition

It seems to me that I can never remember to do these. Although, I most definitely need them. I'm not on real happy terms with my job right now (not the people per-say, mostly the job itself) Maybe I will write about it here one day...?

Anyhow, Friday was everything going wrong/not quite right and since T's out of town for a conference the whole weekend, I loaded myself up with a caramel latte and headed straight to Joann Fabrics after work.

My plan was to load up on all of the little things I've been missing for projects and then hole up in my house the whole weekend and never leave. Which to an introvert just sounds like freaking PARADISE.

Just to throw a wrench in my plan, I got a nice summer head cold Thursday, which mostly just makes me want to sit on the couch and watch Netflix all day.

However, I can now do single, double, and triple crochet. And I worked out that the edges were always curling on my work because I was crocheting too tightly...What? What else am I supposed to do while watching a mini-marathon of Dr. Who??

So, now I'm drinking hot chamomile in August. Colds suck.

As always, there are five things to be grateful for this week:

  1. That its just a cold and does not include fever, vomiting, etc. It could be waaay worse. Plus, medicated sleep is some of the best sleep. ;)
  2. T, miss him like crazy. I don't think we've ever been apart for more than one night since we got married 2 years ago.
  3. Our cat. He sleeps with me almost the whole night when T's gone. Which means I might just forgive him for waking me up at 6:30am.
  4. Caramel lattes.
  5. Indian food. Its the one time I'm leaving my house this weekend.

I hope you all had a wonderful week!

I should have plenty of projects to share in the coming days *fingers crossed*.

PS - One of my favorite mini-series of ALL TIME is on Netflix instant. If you have 7 hours to kill and like fairytale re-tellings, go watch The 10th Kingdom. You will not be disappointed!

  1. I hope you feel better soon. Maybe crafting will help.

  2. I can relate to so much of what you post, especially this week as a fellow Indian-food loving introvert who works at a frustrating job at a university - except that my crafting this weekend was not so successful ;) I'm sorry to know that you're also having a hard time with your job, but you are not alone! I mutter to my computer all day long...wait, should I have admitted that? Feel better (cats are great caretakers, aren't they?)!

    1. Aww, thank you! Cats are pretty good caretakers....Until they don't need anything from you!

The Indian food was wonderful as usual, except I accidentally left the leftovers in my car overnight and it wasn't really cool enough out for me to trust it the next morning. :(

The only thing I could save was the naan. Still delicious.

Thank you for stopping by, I am always happy to hear from you!
